Welcome
Meeting called to order at 6:30pm by Jim R. with Serenity Prayer and introductions.
Officer Reports
- Secretary (Rene’ M.): Minutes accepted and approved
- Treasurer (Charles H.): Financials prepared by CPA remain consistent with prior year. Budget information will be emailed along with meeting minutes for viewing beforehand
Old Business — Budget & Finance
- More discussion around the Operations Fund is needed before a completed budget can be passed
- Motion to pass the budget for DAAY in the Park ($3,000); increase pay for Central Office employees to $19/hr for Manager and $15/hr for Assistant Manager effective immediately; and table the remainder of the budget until the Treasurer, Chair, and Central Office Manager meet for discussion (meeting set for October 1, 2025 at 2:00pm): seconded, passed with substantial unanimity
Central Office Reports — Carolyn H.
- Full report available on website
- Attended ICOAA convention; returned with guidance on service efforts for Central Office and Service Board
- Introduction of “meeting in a pamphlet” — can be printed from website
- Pamphlet backstock reduced; distributed to districts
- Large print newcomer packet now available
- Welcomed to host a table at Sober Fest
- Motion to approve Central Office participation at the Sober Fest public information table on November 22, 2025: seconded, passed with substantial unanimity
Committee Reports
- Website: Jourdan Y. appointed Chair
- T&C (Andrea reporting): Grace House seeking meetings for women. District 18 has met with Grace House director on getting meetings started. Applications for OPP are now open
- Big Deep South (Mary): Convention date set for June 5–7, 2026 at the Airport Hilton. Speakers chosen; looking for theme ideas — must come from the Big Book; will be voted on next month. First fundraiser: Scary-Okey, November 1, 6–10pm, $10 suggested donation; speaker is Crash. Some chair positions still available. Next meeting: October 22. Note: Charitable gaming laws apply when annual raffle income exceeds $5,000 — BDS does not currently exceed this amount
- DAAY in the Park (Eric): Event is October 25 at Bucktown Harbor, 10am–3pm. Please let home groups know. Next meetings: October 1 and 15 at 6pm

District Reports
- D12 (Lilian): Spring Roundup theme: “We Are Not a Glum Lot” — plenty of service opportunities available. Meeting: 2nd Tuesday of the month; see springroundupla.com. LASCYPAA: 213 registered, seeking fundraising donations
- D18 (Shane): Service Chair opportunities available. Working on “Family Fun Day.” Requesting ideas on how to increase district-level involvement
- D19 (Buddy): District meeting gaining traction; great turnout. Last two workshops (History of AA and TNC) went very well. Possible Grapevine workshop in February
- D20 (Andria): Events workshop position still needs filling. Fundraiser for Central Office raised $428; looking to continue next year
- D21, D17, D25: Absent
Ad Hoc Committee — New Central Office Location (Glen reporting)
- Current location is more centralized for the surrounding areas. Possible suggestions to revamp the existing office
New Business
- Contents of Minutes (Robert’s Rules Section 48:6,8): Due to time constraints on bulletin publication, minutes will be emailed to members for viewing before the next Service Board meeting. Once approved, they will be posted on the website
- Service Board Inventory Suggestions — Question 2: Consideration for a separate meeting (possibly via Zoom) to further discuss inventory notes
