I. Welcome — Wesly

II. Secretary’s Report / Approval of Minutes

Minutes approved.

III. Looking Forward

  • Web Committee (Ken): Will add new meeting information; chair person to get together with Ken for back end updates
  • Big Deep South (John): First Wednesday of every month; anyone willing and able to help is welcome. A few positions still need to be filled — Hospitality, Themes still being discussed. Date set: June 7–9, 2024 at Hilton Airport; next meeting will vote on theme
  • GNOSB Vice Chair (Alexa M.): Nothing to report

IV. GNOSB Treasurer — Ray Y.

  • Report approved
  • Expenses were inline; contributions were low as groups give at different times
  • With the new Square system in place at Central Office, there were a few learning curves

V. Central Office Updates — Ken

  • Square training ongoing
  • Need a few volunteers to learn the system to take card payments and answer phones
  • Email information on new meeting openings, calendar updates, virtual conference information to office@aaneworleans.org
  • AA book covers will no longer come separately — they are now part of the Book. New Comer Packets: $3.60; Group Binders with all information: $12.00
  • Bulletin deadline is the 15th of every month; please send flyers and group information so you are included
  • Ken taking vacation first two weeks of November
  • Phone Hotline New Chair: Mike B. — thank you Mike! A few time slots still available. Call Mike to volunteer: 504-223-2809

VI. DAAY in the Park — Ken

  • October 28 was a huge success! Booths held with Halloween theme; costumes were outrageously well planned; plenty of food, candy, soft drinks, desserts, games, jumping area; beautiful weather enjoyed by all
  • Thank you to the groups who donated so much to make this a success, and to the Committee and all its volunteers

VII. District Reports

  • District 12 (Felix): Nothing to report
  • District 17: 43rd Bayouland Jamboree is November 10–11 in Houma; Big Deep South 2024 donated two complimentary passes, value at $70, in a basket to be raffled off — the Mom/Daughter winner was so excited
  • District 18 (Keith): New activities; Woodland putting together a Kick Ball Tournament for February 13, 2024. Call Keith: 504-234-3747
  • District 19: Great opportunity — anyone going out as GSO or SBR in their groups, consider being the DCM. One more is needed. Call Lynn: 504-231-2077. Also, a Grapevine workshop is in the making
  • District 20: New Year’s Bash, 8:00–1:00, food, DJ — flyer to be attached
  • Districts 21/23: CBCLI at the Library; call Zack: 504-669-1502
  • Lou Barrious, 1530 Gravier: AA Meeting — call Lynn

T&C — Scott

  • Continue donations of books, grapevines, and packets no longer in use — they were given out. Thank you to all who brought them. Central Office for volunteers to take to T&C places
  • Workshop on T&C: Saturday, January 27, 2024, noon–1:00pm. Call Scott: 504-982-5540
