Co-Chair/Interim Chair Alexa B. opened the meeting at 6:30pm with Serenity Prayer.

Officer Reports

• Chairperson: Former Service Board Chair Wesly W. (absent) resigned in June 2024
• Secretary: Former Secretary Josie D. (absent) resigned in June 2024. May 2024 meeting minutes approved by Service Board. June 2024 meeting minutes taken by Colyn, Assistant Manager
• Co-Chair/Interim Chair (Alexa B.): Term of service ends at the end of June; grateful for her time serving
• Treasurer (Ray): Stepping down — see attached balance sheet. Income was good with merch, donations, etc.; purchase orders were high in advance of Conventions and cash on hand got fairly low

Central Office Report — Carolyn H.

• Big Deep South 2023 was reported as generating $22k in profit at the July 2023 Service Board Meeting. Central Office has not yet received a contribution or financial documentation from BDS 2023
• May 2024 Meeting minutes did not include former Chair Wesly W.’s May 2024 hiring of Assistant Manager Lynn W. — Assistant Manager Lynn W. resigned in June 2024
• AT&T phone (landline to digital) & internet contracts renegotiated to lower bill amounts — requires Service Board approval to move forward. Motion to accept new AT&T contracts: passed with substantial unanimity, 2 abstentions
• Motion to buy Square product barcode reader: passed with substantial unanimity, 1 abstention

Committee Chair Reports

• Hotline Chair (Will H.): Almost fully staffed; only shift on offer is Saturday night 5–10pm. Working to update the driver/rider list and 12th Step list for different regions. Coordinating with 33 volunteers about new phone procedures
• Website Chair (Tourné): Code for Recovery — the folks who build the Meeting app and the plugin that lets meetings display consistently across multiple websites. Working on a “meetings nearest to me right now” button and other UI/UX improvements
• DAAY in the Park: First planning meeting Tuesday, July 2, 5:30pm at Central Office

District Reports

• District 12: Absent
• District 18: Absent
• District 19 (Marlena): Meeting held last night; need a Treasurer; elections around October; preparing to review District Inventory
• District 20 (Colyn): Elections coming up in October; positions will be for 2 years; had a good D20 Speak n Eat
• District 21/23 (Catherine): Any Lengths is having a Speak n Eat; speaker is Jeff A.

Committee Chair Reports

• CPC/PI: Brian
• T&C (Scott B.): Have a GroupMe chat: NOLAT&C; purchased pamphlets for Big Deep South — needs reimbursement check written
• Big Deep South (John P., Outgoing Chair): Needs to schedule final meeting soon. Hotel miscommunication resulted in an unexpected $4,000 balance instead of the planned $800 reimbursement check. $15,000 in cash from tickets, 50/50 raffle, etc.; approximately 400 registrations including scholarships. Incoming Chair Mike A. has storage unit key and will focus on future BDS events

Elections

• Treasurer: Sunny — sober 6 years (July 25), has run her own small business. Will be out of town for July and December meetings; sponsor approves. Elected with substantial unanimity, no opposed or abstentions
• Chair: Andrea — willing and able; will fill in for 1 year to end of current Chair term. Sobriety date 11/25/2020; holds positions at several home groups; is Service Board Rep for one meeting and GSR for another. Elected with substantial unanimity, 1 opposed, no abstentions
• Secretary: No one stood for position; election to be held again next month

New Information

• National Corrections Convention taking place in Charlotte this year
• State Convention is this coming weekend
